DIFF ROKKA
Diff Rokka (Joey Meuross) is a solo, British Digital Hardcore / Pop Punk artist based in Tokyo, Japan. Joey’s love of the genre-traversing, futuristic sounds of several notable Japanese bands led to a deep interest in Japanese life and culture. Eventually, in 2014, he moved to Japan and spent a number of years developing Diff Rokka. In 2020 he released his debut album ‘Hurts Less When I Speed’.
Diff Rokka’s dynamic sound combines various electronic music genres such as breakbeat, hardcore and techno with guitars, aggressive punk vocals and uplifting, catchy pop hooks; vocals are layered with distortion and driving punk rock guitars sit on top of fast electronic beats and thick, swelling synths. In amongst the chaotic sounds however are simple, punchy pop songs with catchy melodies and solid verse/chorus arrangements.
